reclaim · redesign · the philosophy

You were never the problem. The system was.

This is the thinking behind every piece of work I do. It's not a methodology I borrowed from a training manual. It came from my own life — and it's the only way I know how to help someone change theirs.

Where it came from

I spent years optimising the wrong life.

I was good at it. Marketing strategy, digital transformation, content operations — I understood systems and I understood people. I spent 25 years in digital and marketing — across every kind of business challenge, boardroom, and strategic complexity you can imagine.

And then everything converged at once. Burnout. Perimenopause. An ADHD diagnosis at 43 that reframed every version of "not coping" I'd ever experienced. I tried everything I was supposed to try — the retreats, the journalling, the boundaries. None of it changed the underlying structure.

Eventually I understood the difference between managing a bad situation and redesigning it entirely. I sold everything, left Cape Town, and started again. Three kids, ten countries, now Guatemala. Not running away — running toward something I'd never let myself want because it seemed too different from what I was supposed to want.

That's the work. Not optimising the cage. it's making the cage unnecessary.

The four phases

reclaim. redesign.

The same four phases run through every programme — whether you arrive via burnout or via a quieter sense that something has to change. They're not steps. They don't always run in a straight line. But the order matters.

01 reclaim

Map

See clearly what is actually happening.

Not what should be happening. Not what you've been telling yourself. The fog has a cause. We find it. This is the phase where burnout recovery begins — mapping the real load, the real cost, the real source of depletion.

02 reclaim

Stabilise

Hold the ground before building anything new.

Most coaching skips this phase. It is the most important one. Until you are stable — not healed, not fixed, stable — any redesign you attempt will collapse under the existing weight. We reduce what's draining you before we rebuild anything.

03 redesign

Strip

Remove what was never yours.

The obligations you inherited. The version of success built for someone else. The roles you stepped into because there was nobody else. Named, examined, and where possible — put down. This is where the relief begins.

04 redesign

Rebuild

Build forward, specifically and deliberately.

With clarity earned and space made, we design what comes next. The Reclamation Redesign Roadmap is built here — a written document specific to your life, your constraints, your next season. Not a mood board. A roadmap.

Three ways to work together

The same framework. Different entry points.

Where you start depends on where you are — not all four phases at once, not the same depth. The framework is consistent. The work is calibrated to your situation.
