The work
You don't need the same kind of help at every stage.
Sometimes you're ready to ask what you want next.
Sometimes you're so bloody exhausted that "what do I want?" feels like one more question you don't have the energy to answer.
Designed to Flow starts with where you actually are.
The shared philosophy
Flow is designed, then found.
Whichever door you come in through, this is how I look at a life. Not a framework to memorise. Think of a river. It's a more useful way of seeing what's going on.
Capacity
= the waterWhat you actually have available. Energy, attention, time, health, support, headspace.
Design
= the riverbedThe shape of your life: work, relationships, responsibilities, routines, expectations.
Friction
= informationWhatever gets in the way. Annoying, but useful. It tells you where to look.
Flow
= what becomes possibleWhat happens when what you've got and the shape of your life work together well enough to move.
Two starting points
Path one
Something doesn't fit.
You've got some bandwidth. Nothing has gone spectacularly wrong, and your life might even work perfectly well on paper. But something feels stuck, flat, restless or increasingly unlike you.
The questions here sound like:
- What do I actually want now?
- Is this really it?
- Who am I becoming?
- What makes me feel alive?
- Which part of my life no longer fits?
This is the broader Designed to Flow work: working out what no longer fits, what you actually want, and redesigning the bits that need to change.
Path two
I'm bloody exhausted.
You don't have the bandwidth for a big life redesign right now, and nobody should be asking you to reinvent your career, fix your relationship and discover your purpose by Friday.
So we start with:
- understanding what's actually happening
- reducing the load you don't need to carry
- finding where your energy is leaking
- getting the right health and professional support
- getting enough back to think and choose again
Stabilisation before redesign. If you're not sure what's burnout and what's perimenopause, the guide is a good first step.
Same philosophy. Different starting point.
These aren't two different businesses.
They're two different starting points.
If you're running on empty, getting some energy back comes before any big changes.
If you've got enough in the tank to get curious, we can start looking at what fits, what doesn't and what you want to try next.
The goal either way isn't a life with no friction in it. It's enough energy, enough say over your own life, and enough of a fit that things can start moving again.
you don't redesign the house while it's on fire.
How the work actually happens
Small experiments, not a five-year plan.
- Notice where life isn't flowing.
- Look at what's really going on.
- Change something small.
- Learn, and choose again.
